There was news that Kane Williamson was selected to play in PSL but soon it was noticed that he is missing in the first half of PSL 2025. It seems very strange because he was also missed in T20 2023, maybe it is a result of his conservative style of playing cricket.

Everyone was expecting that he will participate in the PSL 2025 but when he missed in the half of PSL, the fans became disappointed and hoped to find him in the next half of the PSL. After the draft, the leadership of Karachi Kings changed as Shan Masood was replaced by David Warner. 

It was very unexpected that after even having Platinum Category Kane Wiliamson was not selected despite the fact that he is a famous international player of cricket. It was also very unexpected that other New Zealand players like Finn Allen, Mark Chapman, Michael Bracewell, and Daryl Mitchell were selected.

There is another discussion which is about his absence. The cause of his absence from PSL 2025 was not shown to the public but there are many reasons for his absence like his fitness issues, his recent performance and the competitive environment was the main reason for his absence. Although he is consider one of the best players but there are still some reason for which he was seen absent in Half of the PSL tournament.

To conclude, I must say it is also about luck as we can see that Kane Willianson was first selected for the PSL but then suddenly was seen absent  in the first half of the PSL and also expecting that he will not be seen in the other half of the tournament. There are many reasons about this which is discussed above. Now it is up to Karachi Kings that how they manage the absence of Kane Williamson.
